Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) day 日本語能力試験の日

Today is the day for JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test）worldwide. Here in Singapore, it is conducted twice a year by the Japanese Cultural Society of Singapore (JCS). Today about 1900 learners attended this test at SMU Business School. Very well organized! I joined the proctor's yummy lunch. — at Lee Kong Chian School Of Business @ Singapore Management University. 

全世界で同時に開催されている日本語能力試験の日。アメリカでは年に一度でしたが、こちらシンガポールでは７月と１２月の２度。国立シンガポール経営大学院を会場に、整然と実施され約1900人が受験しました。試験監督のお手伝いの皆さんと一緒にいただいたランチの美味しかったこと。バナナリーフに包まれたものは、魚のすり身の焼いたもので、オタオタという名前。美味。

 

"Nippon" found in town. 街で見つけたニッポン各種

Lots of Nippon found today during my Satruday walking.  Fresh veggies air-shippied from Japan at the grocery store (not the special one, but at the ordinary one). Pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama. Famous department stores and Its Rose-chan dolls!

これほどたくさんのニッポンを発見できるとは。懐かしの高島屋のローズちゃん人形は、日本橋でもなかなか見つからないのでは？

Full House with Kon Ichikawa's "Ten Dark Women" 日本映画祭の「黒い十人の女」満員御礼

On its second week of Japan Film Festival 2014 at National Museum of SIngapore, we had full house of 250 seats with still 75 people waiting outside of the theatre.  Kon Ichikawa's "Ten Dark Women" was a cool horror film.

とうとう２週目となった国立シンガポール美術館で開催中の「日本映画祭２０１４」。市川崑監督特集の「黒い十人の女」（１９６１年）２５０席が満席となり、さらに入りきれなかった人が７５名もでました。すごい人気です！

"Japanese Design Today 100" starts at UCLA. ロサンゼルスで開幕した「日本のデザイン１００」展

LA Times features the exhibit of "Japanese Design Today 100" organized and toured by the Japan Foundation at UCLA Perloff Hall of Architect and Urban Design Department (AUD) and quoated Prof. Hitoshi Abe, director of AUD as follows;

"Before, originality was more respected, but now, in the world of globalization, how you bridge different ideas has more value."

ロサンゼルス・タイムズ紙が、UCLA建築都市デザイン学科長の阿部仁史教授から引用。

Japanese Film Festival 2014 starts! 日本映画祭が国立美術館で開幕

Jointly hosting "Japanese Film Festival 2014" with Singapore Film Society (SFS) at National Museum of Singapore for the next 2 weeks, featuring Kon Ichikawa's 15 films.  Also presenting new 7 films bring almost full house at 250-seater Gallery Theatre.  

シンガポール・フィルム・ソサエティとの共催で、国立美術館での日本映画祭が始まりました。市川崑監督作品が１５点、その他新着映画が７本、2週間にわたり上映されます。結構な人気で２５０席の会場はほぼ満席。

The Japanese Association, Singapore! 日本人会の大きさにびっくり！

Amazingly big "The Japanese Association, Singapore" with its own building with 2 restaurants, library, auditorium of 200 seats, tea room, clinic, cooking classroom, and more! Singapore has 5.3 million population with more than 30,000 Japanese residents.

５３０万人の人工を擁するシンガポールに、およそ３万の在留邦人。９０年を越す、日本人会の自社ビルには、二つのレストランに２００席の劇場、クリニックやお茶室、さらに料理教室まで。
